Sustainability is a central part of our mission and an important consideration in how we operate. As we navigate a complex and evolving world, we continue to take steps that support a safer, more responsible, and environmentally conscious future—for people, the planet, and generations to come.
Governance
At Saferoad, good governance provides a foundation for responsible business conduct. We aim for transparency, accountability, and long-term thinking in how we manage both risks and opportunities. Sustainability is integrated across our governance structure, with shared responsibilities throughout the organisation.
The Board of Directors holds overall accountability and receives regular updates on progress and key developments. It also reviews strategic and governance competencies annually and draws on internal and external expertise when needed.
The Group Management Team helps ensure that sustainability is considered in daily operations and broader business decisions. The team monitors relevant indicators, such as health and safety, emissions, and responsible procurement, and regularly reviews sustainability priorities.
Supporting this work, the Chief People and Sustainability Officer and Head of Group Sustainability coordinate the Group’s annual sustainability plan and follow-up. The Head of Group Sustainability works across functions and business areas to align activities with Group goals, using insights from our materiality assessments and internal reviews.
Our ESG Functional Team, made up of representatives from all business areas, meets quarterly to support implementation. Business areas develop their own action plans, often with dedicated resources, while aligning with Group-level strategies, including decarbonisation.
Our approach to sustainability governance is also shaped by our ongoing work with material topics—those environmental, social, and governance issues that are most relevant to our business and stakeholders. By identifying and assessing where the most significant impacts, risks, and opportunities lie across our value chain, we are better positioned to direct our efforts and monitor progress.
Together, these efforts help ensure that sustainability is approached in a coordinated way, while allowing flexibility to reflect local context and drive meaningful progress.
Sustainable development
Sustainability is a guiding principle in how we operate, collaborate, and adapt. It influences decisions across our business—from daily operations and supply chains to partnerships and product development. Through our work, we support safer everyday mobility and reliable infrastructure, while actively seeking to reduce our environmental impact.
Our efforts focus on three interconnected areas: climate, people, and business. These guide how we manage emissions, create a respectful and inclusive work environment, and act with transparency and responsibility throughout our value chain.
We recognise the importance of reducing environmental impact across our operations and value chain. Our initiatives include aiming to use lower-emission materials, improving energy efficiency, and exploring alternative transport and production methods. We also look for ways to minimise waste by reusing materials and promoting recycling where possible. |

Our people are at the core of what we do. We aim to create a workplace where individuals feel safe, valued, and supported. This includes working to prevent injuries, promote wellbeing, and treat everyone fairly. We also encourage learning, development, and a culture shaped by care, drive, and integrity. In addition, we seek to extend these principles by encouraging responsible practices that consider the people contributing throughout our value chain. |

Responsible business practices shape how we operate and what we deliver. We aim to set clear expectations for suppliers, consider sustainability in procurement, and increase visibility around the environmental footprint of our products. By learning and collaborating with others, we seek to offer dependable solutions that contribute to safer and more sustainable infrastructure. |
