Official opening of the new hot dip galvanizing plant in Inowroclaw, Poland

On September 16th it was time for the official opening of the new state of the art hot dip galvanizing plant in Inowroclaw, Poland. The opening was a celebration of the impressive effort that has been put down into the building of the plant during the pandemic.

Gratification was passed on to employees, advisors, suppliers, and partners that contributed to the building project that was delivered both on time and budget in highly uncertain times of a pandemic.

- I am very proud of what the team has achieved, says Maciej Kaczalski, Managing Director of Inter Metal. He describes a building project with many challenges along the way caused by the ongoing pandemic. Many of the challenges could not have been foreseen, but mr. Kaczalski and the Inter Metal team together with suppliers were able to sort the challenges along the way. On the opening they could proudly present a highly operating plant that has an impressive capacity.

The new plant can galvanize 150 steel beams per dip in the molten zink bath. In addition to the obvious positive aspects of controlling the galvanization process internally the new plant also contributes to reducing the Saferoad Group´s environmental impact. The insourcing of the galvanization process to the new facility will reduce the company’s transport need by 3500 trucks per year.

 - This idea occurred years ago, and with this opening the dream came true says Peter Lind, SVP RRS Saferoad Group. He applauds everyone that has been involved in the process, excellent project management and underlines the importance of the plant for the whole business area RRS.

One week after the opening the plant was awarded building of the year in the industrial construction of the Kujawsko-Pomorska Chamber of Construction in Poland.
