Companies like former Vik Verk, now Vik Ørsta AS, have been very dependent of Vikafjellsveien at all times. Especially at winter times the road has been a challenge, but the road has continuously become better through tunnels and other improvements. As a supplier of traffic safety equipment, Vik Ørsta AS has contributed to give the inhabitants and the companies a possibility to live and develop in a district where allocations for road construction not always have been a matter of course.
